FARMING LIFE

Let me tell you about farming life and my thoughts on farming and my family.

I have all my life lived in an agricultural community (37yrs).
My Grandad was a farmer and my dad helped him on the farm until my dad's
Health got bad.
When I was 19 yrs old I married a wonderful man the love of my life, Danial.
He came from a farming family and his granddad and mine were partners.
The first few years of our marriage he worked for other farmers in the area.
After 5 yrs, he decided to he wanted to be out on his own in farming so we bought a house on a ½ section of land (@320 acres of land).By then we had our first child then almost 5 yrs later our second.
I found out how hard a farmers life was due to loans, weather and bills. Don't get me wrong I enjoy my life with my family.
Let me explain a little, a farmer has to apply for a loan every year either from a bank or from the government. These loans have to be paid back every year before the farmer can get another loan. The papers for filling out such loans are confusing. To be able to get a qualify. They take your assets and weight them against your debt load then you have to them how you are going to pay the loan back(cash flow).
Cash flow to them means what you will produce (cotton, peanuts, wheat, etc..) and what you think the price for them will be by the time you harvest them. How much it will cost you to produce the product such as prices for seed, fuel, chemicals for weeds, fertilizer, etc.
The money you get for your crop goes to paying back your loan. Which in turns becomes income for the farmer on his IRS taxes. The payment for the loan isn't considered an expense only the interest.
This process happens every year for a farmer. He worries if he will be able to pay back the loan and if he will be able to get another loan for the next year.
The business part of farming I really don't understand completely. I just keep the books and help on the farm.
What I do enjoy is the fact I can work with my husband .I love watching the crops grow and see them change colors when they are ready to harvest.
I work in the summer with my daughter on the spray rig. We spray the fields and kill the weeds that harm our crops. We have to be very careful not to spray the crop or we will kill it also.
A few years ago, I decided to help my family out by starting my own business.
First, I tried to be a travel agent but now days with the internet there really isn't a need for one. I kept looking for a home based business and found a wonderful one.
I found Nuskin Enterprise. My goal was to help my family when times got tough to my surprise I found a lot more. I found another family and another support system.
People who truly care about me and my family. I am not just a number to them.
They help me out on any situation. I also found a company that I can stand behind.
We use the products every day. My mom uses the Galvanic spa for the veins in her legs.
We use the supplements for our allergies and we use their skin care product which are wonderful.

I hope this will explain some on farming life and more about who I am.
